# Google ADK

> Generate Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF files from a Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) agent.

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
pip install "google-adk[mcp]"
```

ADK connects Doconda's tools with `McpToolset`. In `documents/agent.py`:

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
import os
from google.adk.agents import Agent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool import McpToolset, StreamableHTTPConnectionParams
root_agent = Agent(
    name="documents",
    model="gemini-3.5-flash",
    instruction="Create the documents the user asks for and return their links.",
    tools=[
        McpToolset(
            connection_params=StreamableHTTPConnectionParams(
                url="https://api.eu.doconda.com/mcp",
                headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['DOCONDA_API_KEY']}"},
            ),
        ),
    ],
)
```

With a `documents/__init__.py` that says `from . import agent`, try it with `adk web` (or `adk run documents`) and ask,
for example, "make an Excel file with the event budget". Gemini reads `GOOGLE_API_KEY`, or Vertex AI with
`GOOGLE_GENAI_USE_VERTEXAI=TRUE`.

To use it locally, instead of the remote server:

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool import McpToolset, StdioConnectionParams
from mcp import StdioServerParameters
McpToolset(
    connection_params=StdioConnectionParams(
        server_params=StdioServerParameters(command="npx", args=["-y", "@doconda/mcp"], env={"DOCONDA_API_KEY": "ak_eu_…"}),
        timeout=300,
    ),
)
```

`timeout=300`: locally it is also the wait per call (5 s by default), and a document takes longer to be ready.
