# Doconda in your agent

> Give your agent the ability to create, review and edit documents, with the stack you already use.

Your agent decides what to say; Doconda turns it into the document. There are three ways to connect it, depending on your stack:

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="MCP server" icon="plug" href="/en/agents/mcp">
    For any MCP client: Claude, Cursor, Codex, LangChain, CrewAI, smolagents, n8n. No code to write.
  </Card>

  <Card title="SDK tools" icon="wrench" href="/en/agents/claude">
    `doconda.tools()`: tools ready for function calling with Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, Bedrock, Vertex AI or the AI SDK.
  </Card>

  <Card title="REST API" icon="code" href="/en/api-reference/introduction">
    For everything else: an HTTP request with your API key.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## The tools

Whether through MCP or the SDK, your agent gets the same tools:

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `create_document` | Creates a Word document, PDF, PowerPoint, Excel or artifact (`format` is optional: if you leave it out, Doconda works it out). From a sentence or from content already written. |
| `upload_file` | Uploads a file to review it, edit it or use it as a source. |
| `review_document` | Reviews a Word, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF file and fixes its problems without touching the content. |
| `edit_document` | Changes a document as requested; everything else stays the same. |
| `list_documents` | The project's latest documents, with their id and name, to review, edit or use as a source. |
| `get_document` | Its status and fresh download links. |
| `get_report` | What a review or an edit found and did. |
| `read_artifact_data` | What people have saved in an artifact (votes, tasks…). |

Each tool returns a short summary (status and links), designed so the agent can pass it on to the user
without using up context. Errors also come back as a result, with a code the agent can understand and
fix: if a field is missing, it says so.

| [OpenAI](/en/agents/openai) | SDK tools with `openai`; MCP in OpenAI Codex. |

<Note>Everything the agent does counts as if you did it yourself with the API: same project, same region, same price.</Note>
