# Style

> Say it in your own words: font, colors, alignment, cover page, table of contents…

Style is requested **in text**, the way you would tell a person. Doconda reads it with AI and applies it to the **Word
styles** (`Normal`, `Heading 1`…), not paragraph by paragraph: the document stays editable.

```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
{ "style": "Lora 11 font, dark blue centered headings, justified, with a cover page, table of contents and page numbers" }
```

It also works inside the `prompt` sentence ("a report with blue headings…"): both are taken into account.

<Warning>
  Whatever you ask for that we can't do is not silently ignored: it comes back in `style_unsupported` (for example, "gradient
  background" or a font that doesn't exist), and the rest is applied.
</Warning>

## What you can ask for

| | Examples |
| - | - |
| Font | **Any [Google Fonts](https://fonts.google.com) family** (over 2,000: Lora, Playfair Display, Roboto, Inter, Montserrat…), plus Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New |
| Size and line spacing | "11 pt font", "1.5 line spacing" |
| Colors | of the title, the headings, the text or the accent: "dark blue headings", "accent #2E75B6" |
| Alignment | of the title, the headings or the text: "centered title", "justified text" |
| Margins and orientation | "2 cm margins", "landscape" |
| Cover page, table of contents and page numbers | "with a cover page", "with a table of contents", "number the pages" |
| Header and footer | "in the footer: Confidential" |

The PDF embeds the font, so it looks the same everywhere. The Word file uses it by name: if whoever
opens it doesn't have it installed, Word will substitute a similar one.

In the response, `style_applied` shows how it was understood (font, colors…), so you can check it.

<Note>In an **artifact** the style describes how the page looks: "brand colors, minimalist, big buttons".</Note>
