Use Docmosis if you generate many documents with the same design (invoices, letters, policies) from templates your team maintains in Word or LibreOffice. Use Doconda if the content or structure changes with every document, if you want to edit or review files that already exist, or if an AI agent will use it.

Comparison

When to choose Docmosis

  • Your documents always share the same design and only the data changes.
  • You want non-technical people to maintain the templates in Word.
  • You need to self-host the generator (Tornado) or embed it in a Java application.
  • You generate large volumes at a fixed monthly cost by pages.
  • You need barcodes or QR codes in the document.

When to choose Doconda

  • The content changes with every document: a report, a proposal or a contract drafted from what is asked for.
  • You do not want to design and maintain a template per document type.
  • You need to edit existing files (“change the signing date”) or review them.
  • You also work with PowerPoint and Excel (with native charts and real formulas).
  • An AI agent uses it over MCP or the SDK.

Using them together

Docmosis fits repetitive, fixed-design documents; Doconda fits documents drafted or changed case by case. A document generated with Docmosis can also be sent to Doconda to edit it with an instruction when someone asks for a one-off change.
